I won my first round match in New Haven on Monday, beating Igor Kunitsyn, 6-4, 6-4. I’m happy with the way I played, particularly with the way I served in that match. I only lost four points on my second serve and didn’t face break points in the match. I was able to play a couple of good return games and get a couple of breaks early in each set and that kind of set the tone for me. (more…)
Hi Everyone:
I was excited to win last night. It was the first time I ever played Donald Young before and it was a good match, 6-4, 7-6(4). I served well and I thought Donald played pretty well overall, but my serve kept me in the match that was the deciding factor. I think he might have felt a little pressure serving in the tie break because I hadn’t lost my serve. (more…)

It feels good to be back in Washington, DC. I made the final here last year in my big break through tournament. I feel very comfortable with the courts, the atmosphere and the fans here in DC. There’s something about that center court here in DC that I like very much. It just seems like a good speed and bounce for my game, the tournament itself is awesome and the fans here are fantastic.
